Life, Struggle & Success (Short Documentary)

This was the second major project from my degree. A documentary-style film created as part of a brief to explore any subject of our choice, provided it featured real participants.

I chose to focus on the people closest to me, aiming to uncover their personal views on ambition, direction, and identity. Without giving them any prior context, I asked friends to sit down and talk candidly about what they were doing with their lives, where they wanted to go, and what “success” meant to them.

I've always been drawn to the emotional honesty that documentary filmmaking can achieve, and this project gave me the chance to experiment with that form of storytelling. While there are elements I would refine in hindsight, I'm proud of the authenticity we captured and how quickly it came together.
